I kick-start my bike and start my routine 50 km journey to Phagi where I’m now working on my assignment to document Shiksha Samarthan Project, Phagi. The drive till Sanganer is as usual lots of traffic; once you cross Sanganer you can heave a sigh of relief, no more congested roads. Driving to Phagi has its own rewards and punishment. Miles and miles of open sky, a long stretch of straight road which is partly pockmarked, wind that makes your eyes water nudging you to fall asleep and your helmet which is happily engaged in grinding your neck.

Dear friends with great trepidation, anxiety and at the risk of being ridiculed, allow me to introduce myself. I'm Rajesh and have recently taken up the Wipro fellowship. Creating a subjective pen portrait of one’s personality is not an easy task. It is always difficult to remain bias free. Therefore, one’s construct of her/his own self should be tested and validated by others. Some researchers claim that in educational theorising, practice and research, the experiences of ‘self’ are a source of knowledge and a valuable pedagogic resource.

I proudly introduce myself as one of those who did a four year integrated course in Regional College of Education, Ajmer and passed out of the college to make a career in teaching by choice not by chance.
Today as a head of a Senior Sec. School , I begin a new chapter which will help me intensify my quest for a well justified definition of the education system with the help of WIPRO.

Hope new insights await me in my journey.

Wipro Fellowship
Under fellowship, currently I am involved with documentation of two projects. The first one is about the Documentation of the DQEP work with Mid level functionaries (CRP and BRPs) and
the second one is related to Documenting the Whole School Change Process at Vidya Bhawan school, Udaipur.

I have briefly described each of these works.

Background

It is going to be a little longish intro..but it will help you understand me and my journey...

I come from a joint family living in a picturesque Himalayan village in north India. I grew up and had my education in the small town of Mussoorie where my father was posted in a government department. I am the first one in my family to have progressed beyond primary schooling.

Science and policy

In recent time so many conferences, meetings have taken place pertaining to climate issue. And at the same time I was reading about different policies in education.
Taken together it was making me think about the concept of science and policy. No doubt about the fact that scientist has a very pivotal role to play in deciding about the policy or framing the policy.
