BINCY'S INTRO- Personal & Professional
Dear All
Good to know about Ram, Jitendra and Devisree. So here is a bit about me…
I am a resident of West Delhi. I have spent a small part of my academic life in Rajasthan and Bangalore too. In fact Bangalore is like my other home. But my native place is Kerala. Just in case you are still not confused, read on….
I have done my graduation in Journalism from Delhi University and Post-graduation in Social Work from Christ College, Bangalore. I am sure, you- my friends who are in this field will not ask me the question the whole world asks..ie. “why did your interest change from journalism to social work?” But just in case some of you have that in mind let me share my perspective. Developmental journalism is about reporting the change others are making and thus indirectly taking out this change to the wider spectrum. Now after getting initiated on it I felt I should directly plunge into making change. This was very clear and I decided my line of work. And here I am…where? Well read on ..
I work with Dil Se Campaign, New Delhi as Education coordinator. At present there are four Dil Se Rainbow Homes in Delhi. Two homes, Kilkari and Khushi, are for girls aged 2 to 17 years. The other two homes, Uma Pandey and Ummeed, are for boys. Uma Pandey is for younger boys (aged 2 to 14 years) and Ummeed is for older boys (aged 14 to 22 years). The educational requirement for each home is varied and we cater to them specifically. I shall post more on this later. Hope this information was of some use to you.
